Boyband McFly have announced today that they are rescheduling their UK tour due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

The band, including lead guitarist Bolton-born Danny Jones, were due to play at various venues across the UK in October and November this year.

These dates had already been rescheduled from the original tour planned in April and May.

But now they have taken the decision to postpone the gigs until a time when it is safe to perform live music.

Fortunately for fans, all the original tickets will still be valid.

McFly said on Twitter: "In light of the ongoing situation with covid-19 globally, the McFly UK tour can no longer take place in October and November 2020.

"The shows have been rescheduled to the dates below, and all original tickets remain valid.

"We cannot wait to get back out on tour and go mental."

The date for Manchester Arena on has now been rescheduled to May 16.

Despite not being able to tour, McFly have kept busy during lockdown, releasing their new single Happiness last month.

Their latest album, Young Dumb Thrills, will be released in November this year.

McFly reunited in September last year and this is the first time they've released new music in a decade.
