How long have you been the landlady for?
It will be two years in September.
Bar staff:
We have 15 people that work here all together including bar staff and kitchen staff.
Give us some history about the pub:
The pub undergone a huge design overhaul and interior changes and been completely refurbished.
What’s on the menu?
We are a Flaming Grill serving a delicious menu of flamed meals, we do a fantastic Sunday roast and have a popular dessert menu. We have a kids menu and a vegan menu.
Is there a beer garden?
Yes it was also refurbished and is extremely inviting.
Most popular drink served is:
Gin and tonic or Stella.
Any entertainment?
The Wellington has always been popular with Bury locals, so we are really excited to be able to provide the best sporting events shown on large screen televisions.
Most memorable moment at the pub:
When we re-opened after the refurbishment. It was a momentous occasion and we loved every minute.
The opening was a real success, with everyone commenting on the fantastic revamped interior and improved drinks range.
Have you faced any challenges within the industry?
Obviously the covid situation but we have managed it well. Since opening back up we have put all relevant precautions in place and the customers are safe and well looked after. We have received many compliments from customers telling us how clean the pub is and how safe they feel.
The best thing about running a pub is...
The people that you meet, you become friends with the customers and your colleagues.
The worst thing about running a pub is...
The sleep pattern, we have late nights and early morning starts.
The perfect hangover cure is...
I think a glass of milk always works and some spicy food later
Opening hours: The Wellington is open from 11am to 11pm Sunday to Thursday and 11am to 12am on Fridays and Saturdays.
