Some of these streets and shopping centres are now wholly different. But others remain very familiar.

We've also lost a lot of shops and independent retailers along the way, including names that were once renowned well beyond Bury.

Sadly there is no date for this shot of the Four Lane Ends stretch of Bury New Road. Although the Red King pub is clearly still open for punters.
