CHILDREN enjoyed an "emotional yet exciting" send-off after graduating from a Tiptree pre-school.

Youngsters at Little Peeps Nursery, in Townsend Road, had one last get-together before embarking on the next chapter of their lives, starting primary school in September.

They had an afternoon of fun together, strictly abiding to social-distancing regulations.

Staff read out paragraphs they had prepared on each child, about their memories with them.

They also read the children's book I Wish You More.

Manager Gemma Hibbard said: "It was an emotional yet exciting graduation for our school-leavers.

"This year has been a difficult one for us all but we really feel for these children as they're going through such a huge transition.

"We were so happy to see them back together for a final goodbye.

"Our thanks go to the parents for bringing them and making the graduation work in line with the Government's guidelines."

Some of the children will still be attending nursery during the school summer holidays.

However, the graduation was a final get-together, with many getting set to start in Reception classes in September.

"We're looking forward to the final few weeks with a few of the children and hope we have the best time possible," added Mrs Hibbard.

"But we wish all the school-leavers the best time at school.

"We're so proud of them and know they will do amazingly well."

The other staff at the pre-school, who were present on the day, are owner Jenny Baron, Ellie Booth and Alex Spalding.

Little Peeps have two bases - one in Tiptree and the other in Feering.
