A CHARITY has launched a weekly YouTube show to teach young people about mental health.
The Mental Health Family Hour is the creation of mental health first aider Sam Tyrer from Lancashire, who has previously founded the young people’s education programme Change Talks, and presenter Dave Cottrell.
Before lockdown Change Talks would go into 5 schools across Lancashire every half-term and deliver mental health programs and now the YouTube shows aim to do the same.
A spokesperson said: “The show is aimed at not just the kids experiencing these things, but also at the parents and teachers supporting these kids.
“The hosts launched the show with the aim to open up lines of communication between children and their parents and teachers and enable more beneficial conversations around mental health.”
The shows can be streamed live on twitch.tv/mindsetbydave at 10am every Tuesday and will then be available to watch later on YouTube.
