ALEX Baptiste could return to Wanderers for a second spell after being handed a trial by his former Blackpool team-mate, Ian Evatt.

The 34-year-old defender last played for Bolton in April 2014, spending the 2014-15 season on loan at Blackburn Rovers before moving on to Middlesbrough.

In total he played 43 times for the Whites, scoring four goals, all of which were under the stewardship of Dougie Freedman.

Since then he has played at Preston North End (loan), Sheffield United (loan), QPR, Luton Town (loan) and Doncaster Rovers.

He picked up a bad Achilles injury early last season which restricted him to just two appearances at the Keepmoat Stadium and was eventually released by the club.

He was offered a chance to get back up to speed by Wanderers when they returned to the training ground at the start of this week to begin preparations for League Two.
