A GRANT from to Nightsafe from East Lancashire Freemasons will help ensure young homeless and vulnerable people from across Blackburn and Darwen will continue to receive food and other essential items.
The £2,500 gift to the charity providing housing, shelter and provisions to those aged 16-24 years has enabled it to reopen its face-to-face food and toiletry pack distribution at its Platform 5 Day Centre in Blackburn’s The Boulevard
Nightsafe is now delivering 250 parcels or provisions a month through volunteers and staff through the food larder at its Cornfield Cliffe Project in Darwen.
The packages are now not only going directly to homeless people, but also to families and individuals outside of the 16-24 age range.
Jan Larkin, chief executive of Nightsafe, said: “We’re very grateful to East Lancashire Freemasons for their generous grant, which is allowing us to continue to help homeless and young people and families."
