POLICE arrested three people after knocking down doors in dramatic Walcot raids related to a crackdown on Swindon’s drugs gangs.

Officers seized £2,000 in cash, found Class A and B drugs, and took a trio into custody after searching a house in Hunsdon Close around 7.45am this morning.

The male suspects are 29 and 54-years-old and the woman is 50-years-old. All three are currently in custody.

Three police vans and two police cars parked up as officers dashed out and smashed their way into the property.

For a few moments, shouts and the crashing sound of a door being broken off its hinges filled the quiet residential area.

PCSOs visited neighbours to make them aware of what was going on while sniffer dog Echo helped police search the home.

This was the second of four raids involving 25 officers carried out around the area in the same morning. No arrests were made at the other three houses.

The police acted on intelligence given by members of the public as part of a crackdown on drugs gangs.
