A COMMUNITY centre has decided to play it safe and not re-open until September.

Currock Community Centre is normally a hive of activity hosting afternoons for people with dementia, playgroups and exercise classes to name but a few.

A spokesman from the centre said: “In a bid to ensure our users, staff, volunteers and trustees are safe and to adhere to government legislation and guidance, we have decided to work towards an early September 2020 opening.

“We are currently contacting groups so that we can all work as a team towards reopening.

“As staff are currently furloughed and we have limited information to hand, should you have any suggestions or need any specific requirements, please do let us know.

“We will be working hard during August to carry out all necessary risk assessments to ensure we create a safe working and operational environment.”
