DOZENS of firefighters spent four hours tackling a blaze at a derelict mill in 2005
Crews from Bacup, Rawtenstall, Todmorden, Rochdale, Accrington, Nelson and Burnley were called to Tong Bridge Mill, Springfield Avenue, Bacup.
Four nearby houses were evacuated and it took crews two hours to surround the blaze before firefighters were able to get inside the building.
The single storey section of the building was filled with bales of cotton.
Assistant Divisional Officer Steve Kennedy, said: “The whole of the single storey section was well alight when we arrived and we’ve subsequently had to break in at both sides.”
