A TEN-year-old singing sensation from Bolton is set to release her first original song following a string of successes.

Kallea McKee, from Kearsley, is set to release her first original song ‘Find Ourselves', on Friday, July 10.

The talented youngster, who has previously performed at Bolton's Christmas light switch-on, penned the song with songwriter and producer Darren Martyn at DM Unsigned Juniors.

Mum Stacy said: "She has worked very hard for someone so young and she has really got a mindset for what she wants to do.

"She got into singing when she was younger, following a dance show when she asked me why she wasn't able to sing with the other performers.

"After that, she had some singing lessons funded by Liv's Trust and has gone from there."

Liv's Trust was set up in memory of Olivia Campbell-Hardy, who was killed in the Manchester Arena terror attack.

The Trust helps under twenty-fives across Greater Manchester get help and receive education in music & dance.

Kallea had her first break when Stacy won an Instagram competition for a free session at a recording studio in London.

Once there, a producer said he was "shocked" that someone so young could sing so well.

Kallea, who counts Lewis Capaldi and Dua Lipa among her favourite artists, said: “There are so many expectations on us as we try to navigate our way through life. So many pressures we face in our quest to become who we are meant to be.

" This song was inspired by the struggles of us trying to find ourselves through all the noise”.

Along with her vocal talents, Kallea has also played parts in musicals such as ‘Annie’

and ‘Oliver, appeared in the singing baby advert for AA as well as performing at the 2019 Christmas Lights switch on.

She was also recently featured on BBC Introducing Oxford with Adam Ball.

'Find Ourselves' is set to be released on all major platforms, as well as a music video which is to be uploaded to YouTube.
