THE latest data showing the number of new Covid-19 cases in Shropshire and Cheshire has been published.

The figures, released by Press Association through Public Health England, show the rate of new cases in each area, based on tests that have been carried out in laboratories and in the wider community.

It details the number of cases per 100,000 population, for the week ending Sunday, June 21.

Shropshire has 13.7 cases, compared to Leicester which tops the list with 140.2.

Cheshire West & Chester is performing slightly better meanwhile, with 12.3 recorded cases.
