THE ROYAL Bolton Hospital has now gone for 19 days without reporting any coronavirus related deaths.

Latest figures released by NHS England show that, as of 5pm yesterday, the death toll at the hospital from the illness remains at 221 people. The last death at the hospital was reported as happening on June 10.

Two deaths from the virus occurred at hospitals in the North West at the weekend among a total of 19 people who tested positive for coronavirus and died in hospitals in England.

It brings the total number of confirmed reported deaths in hospitals in England since the pandemic began to 28,672.

Patients were aged between 60 and 96 years old. All had known underlying health conditions.

But the figures do not include people who have died in care homes or the community.
