MORE restrictions are being lifted at tips across Greater Manchester.

From tomorrow, all household waste recycling centres across the borough will be open seven days a week.

The Raikes Lane centre will open from 8am-6pm every day, whilst the Salford Road site will open 8am-6pm Monday to Saturday, and 8am-4pm on Sundays.

Centres will also be accepting books, CDs, and DVDs from tomorrow, with the Raikes Lane site also taking furniture that can be reused.

On Monday, transit vans lower than 2m high will be allowed entry into the site, but visitors are urged to remember that no trailers are allowed.

Queues are still thought to be likely at the Raikes Lane site, and residents are urged to try and visit the centre on Salford Road where possible.

Cars are allowed 52 visits to Suez recycling centres across Greater Manchester each year, whilst vehicles up to 3.5 tonnes such as vans and pickup trucks can only make 18 visits.

Trade waste is not currently being accepted, although businesses with an existing Suez account and the waste collection vehicles from local councils are still able to use facilities to keep vital services running despite coronavirus lockdown measures.
