APPLICATIONS to a fund supporting community projects have opened.

The Co-op Local Community Fund supports local groups and event across the UK to make a difference to the area.

Funding is intended to bring people together to have a positive impact on the wellbeing of the entire community.

Groups can apply to receive one per cent of the money spent on Co-op branded products in the area.

Registered charities, Scout, Guide, or community amateur sports clubs, and religious organisations working to benefit the whole community are eligible to apply for funding.

Applications must be completed by midnight on June 28, and groups will need a variety of things to complete their application, including a document proving that the organisation is not run for private profit.

Successful applicants will be contacted by October, with the first funding payment made in April 2021.
