DOZENS of residents lined the streets leading up to Bury Cemetery yesterday to pay tribute to a taxi driver who died due to coronavirus.
Suliman Khan died following a struggle with the highly contagious coronavirus and has been called an "extremely caring and kind" man.
Mourners took a moment of silence on the stretch of Market Street as the hearse passed by on the way to the funeral at 2.30pm.
Bury Private Hire Drivers Association was behind a socially-distanced 'guard of honour' for Mr Khan.
Fellow taxi drivers also joined to pay their respects and remembrance.
MP for Bury North, James Daly, said: "He worked tirelessly as a taxi driver and was a familiar face in the local community, held in high affection.
"He will be sadly missed by by many, in particular his two sons, Mohsin and Murtaza Khan and his son-in-law Abdul Wahab.
"He was always lending a hand to others and reaching out to them when they were in need. He was an extremely caring and kind man."
