HOSPITALS across the county have recorded more coronavirus-related deaths over the last 24-hours than any other day this week.
Eleven fatalities were reported to NHS England from within Lancashire’s hospitals over the last day, with all five trusts recording at least one death.
In East Lancashire, two new deaths were recorded in facilities including the Royal Blackburn Hospital and Burnley General.
It means the East Lancashire Hospitals Trust has now reported a total of 190 coronavirus-related fatalities.
In Lancashire Teaching Hospitals, three new deaths were reported, bringing the total death toll there to 215.
Four deaths within the Blackpool Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust brings their death count to 191.
Both the University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Foundation Trust and Southport and Ormskirk NHS Foundation Trust reported just one death each, bringing their totals to 163 and 139 respectively.
The death toll for across the county looks set to tip 900 deaths this weekend, with hospital deaths reaching 898 by Friday.
