CURRENT and past teammates are coming together to support Jack Johnson's charity effort following his dad's health scare.

Great Britain internationals Joe Philbin and Daryl Clark from near neighbours Warrington Wolves will be joining Widnes Vikings winger Jack on tackling a cross country half marathon on Friday, June 12, to raise funds for the Stroke Association.

Fellow Wire players Josh Charnley, Dec Patton, Tom Lineham, Ellis Robson and loaned out Harvey Livett will be getting in on the action with their former teammate, along with ex-Warrington and Widnes half-back Kevin Brown, Leeds Rhinos hooker Brad Dwyer and Pat Moran, who is a teammate of Jack's at Widnes.

The fundraising effort follows jack's dad suffering a mini stroke on Monday.

"Luckily after lots of tests the signs are great and he is doing really well," said Jack, who scored seven tries in 18 appearances for Warrington between 2015 and 2019 before joining Featherstone Rovers midway through last year and then Widnes for 2020.

"However, this is not always the case and strokes affect many families and we are very lucky."

A good total looks on the cards, with more than £1,600 donated in the space of a day.
