POLICE are appealing for information after a man was seriously injured after being hit by a BMW in Bolton.

At around 5.50pm on Wednesday, May 20, police were called to reports of a collision involving a BMW M4 and a pedestrian in Wigan Road.

Officers attended and a 41-year-old man was taken to hospital with serious injuries. His condition is described as stable.

The crash happened near to the BP garage in Wigan Road, with officers seen sealing off a stretch of the road between Melbourne Road and Langley Drive following the crash.

No arrests have been made and an investigation is underway.

Sergeant Darren Hancock, of GMP’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said: “This collision resulted in the pedestrian sustaining multiple serious injuries. Our thoughts are with him as he receives treatment in hospital.

“I am appealing to anyone with information or dash cam footage which may assist us with our enquiries to contact us without delay.”
