WE all may have to spend a lot of time in our homes- but that doesn't necessarily mean we can't all enjoy the great outdoors.

While some may indeed be venturing to parks and other beauty spots as part of their daily exercise, others may not feel they can do so.

As an alternative, Laura Ettrick, a committe member at Friends of Burrs Country Park, has asked people to suggest the park to Fields in Trust for their virtual tour project.

The project has seen the trust visiting various parks across the country, including ones in Blackpool, Dunfermline and Antrim.

Drones are used to survey the area and facts are provided about the parks and their history.

Laura posted on Facebook: "You will remember that last year Burrs won a "Much Loved" award from Fields in Trust. Well they have now set up virtual tours of parks and gardens in the UK to help with social isolation.

"The first park they are featuring is the winner of the 2019 award - Stanley Park in Blackpool. I have suggested that they feature Burrs in one of their next tours. Why don't you suggest it too?"

Fields in Trust said: "During these times we must all change how we use and enjoy our local green spaces.

"As we are more limited in our ability to visit local green spaces, this spring Fields in Trust are Bringing Parks to You!

"We'll be taking you on a virtual tour around the UK discovering beautiful parks and green spaces which are much loved and valued by their communities along the way. We need you to get involved as well to help shape the journey."
