A teenager has been arrested for carrying a large hunting knife after police stopped him on a busy main road.
On Wednesday, officers from the Targeted Crime Team stopped the 18-year-old on Colne Road in Burnley.
He was initially searched under the Misuse of Drugs Act as police had concerns and suspicions over his activity.
A spokesperson for the police said: "No drugs were found on the male but he was in possession of a large amount of cash, a mobile phone and a large knife."
The teenager was arrested for possessing a bladed article and is currently being dealt with by the police.
The spokesperson added: "Although times are hard at the minute we will continue to carry out this type of proactive policing."
