A SEX offender who used an internet-enabled device without informing police has been jailed for 18 weeks.

Gareth Christian Kelly, 27, of Albert Avenue, Urmston, was subject to a sexual harm prevention order at the time, Manchester city magistrates heard.

Under the terms of the order, imposed at Manchester Crown Court in June 2018, his internet usage must be strictly monitored over a 10-year period.

Magistrates imposed a custodial sentence after being told that this was not Kelly's first breach of the order.
