A GP surgery has shut suddenly due to a "serious incident".
Egerton and Dunscar Health Centre in Bromley Cross has posted a notice on its website stating:
"Due to a serious incident, the health centre has had to close and will remain closed until further notice. If you had an appointment and still need medical attention today please contact 111 and they will advise you further.
"We will keep you updating with information once it becomes available."
The health centre shut suddenly today and it is not clear whether the closure is due to the coronavirus.
The Bolton News has contacted Bolton CCG to find more about why the surgery is shut.
The health centre in Darwen Road also offers information on the coronavirus and what to do if you have travelled to certain countries.
It warns people not to come in the surgeries and self-isolate.
The surgery has an outstanding CQC rating and five GPs which practice from there.
