IT’S no secret that pubs have suffered a torrid time in recent years - but the dream of becoming a landlord is just as alluring now as it has ever been.

And if you’ve ever fancied getting behind the bar and serving up drinks to thirsty punters, now might just be your chance.

Here are four pubs and clubs up for sale and rent across Bolton...

The Bolton News:

Ikonic

This ill-fated nightclub was opened in late 2018 with big plans.

Unfortunately, an ongoing licensing issue with the council created repeated problems for the owners.

Ultimately, the huge club ended up on the market through agents Fleurets.

In a description, they said: "[This is] a two storey property dating from c.2000, with brick built elevations, under a pitched slate roof to the front and a large flat roof section to the rear.

"There is a double door entrance direct from the pavement and the property forms part of a terrace of properties with a similar external appearance, constructed around the same time as the subject property."

Brinsop Hotel/The One Bar and Restaurant

This restaurant and pub in Manchester Road, Westhoughton, recently underwent a major refurbishment.

It is on the market through agents Fleurets and has space for functions holding 200 people.

The two-storey property is priced at £1.6m.

The Bolton News:

Spread Eagle, Kearsley

This community pub can be found in Manchester Road, Kearsley, and is listed for lease with a rent of £10,000, according to hostelry website Find My Pub.

The site describes the pub as a "traditional community local" in a "good condition".

It was refurbished in 2016.

Find My Pub says: "The current drinks offer includes standard and premium lagers along with a good spirit and wine offer plus cask ales.

"It is family-friendly and pet-friendly. The pub offers regular live entertainment and karaoke plus live football on Sky Sports and BT Sports."

The Lever Edge

The Lever Edge was refurbished heavily in 2018.

The Radcliffe Road pub is on the market with Find My Pub for a rent of £15,000.

It is described as: "The Lever Bridge is in a great part of Bolton and is away from the hustle and bustle of the town centre.

"It needs a great operator to help it develop into an excellent local community pub. Having been fully refurbished in 2018, it is very well appointed, and it features a fantastic outside drinking area/patio at the front of the pub.

"The landlords need operators who will make the Lever Bridge into the ‘best local’ in the area. Ideally, the proposed operators will know the pub and the area and will have a proper interest and feel for running a community local."
