Police are appealing for witnesses after a car was stolen from the driveway of a house in broad daylight.

The burglary, in which a man also stole a number of items from inside the house after breaking into the property on Forton Avenue, Breightmet, took place at 1.31pm on Tuesday.

A man in his 40s was inside the house at the time of the incident but luckily he wasn't injured.

Police are now appealing for witnesses.

A spokesperson for the police said: "The man has stolen a number of items from inside the house, as well as the vehicle from the driveway.

"The vehicle is a grey Vauxhall Insignia, registration HN63 SKV.

"The offender is described as a white male, late teens, short dark hair, wearing a blue tracksuit hoodie, blue tracksuit bottoms and black trainers with white soles, carrying a black shoulder bag.

"A man in his 40s was inside at the time of the incident but thankfully wasn’t injured."
