AN extra 35 jobs are coming to Bury with the arrival of an international automotive tube and hose maker.

Property bosses have announced that Burgaflex UK has secured a new 18,000 square foot unit at the Chamberhall Business Park.

Bosses from the firm, which until now has been located in Heywood, have confirmed that their UK central manufacturing and distribution depot will be located at the Harvard Road site.

Burgaflex was first established in Holland in 1984 and has diversified from air conditioning hoses and assemblies to oil, heater and airbrake tubing and also has presences in Turkey, France, Poland and Australia.

Four hundred jobs are expected to be provided at Chamberhall, which was first given planning permission in January 2019.

Gemma Butler, their industrial and logistics asset manager, said: "Chamberhall Business Park will provide Burgaflex with a high-quality, manufacturing and logistics hub – perfect for its future growth and expansion into the wider UK market.

"The request to fast-track the completion of this build for Burgaflex demonstrates a continued confidence and demand for speculatively built industrial and logistics space in the north west that is ideally located."

In a statement from the joint agents Paul Nolan, from Nolan Redshaw, and Rob Tillet at Knight Frank, added: "Chamberhall Business Park site appeals to firms of all sizes due to the close proximity of the M66 and Metrolink.

"It means the site provides vital transport links and is accessible from residential areas for recruitment and retention."

The business park, on 17 acres of land, should eventually feature 14 units, offering over 130,000 square feet of industrial and logistics space, under a first phase.

Several other units are said to be under offer there and a second phase is planned later.
