YOUNGSTERS are in a class of their own when it comes to saying thank you.
Six gifted primary school children have been named as the winners of the Bury Hospice Design a Thank You card competition.
Darcy Ball, aged five, Alice Greenhalgh, aged five, Shayleigh Hellawell, aged nine, Ava Love, aged eight, Reubenna Mannanal, aged 10 and Dylan Parkinson, aged nine all attend St Mary’s RC Primary School in Haslingden, where hospice trustee Donna McNicoll is headteacher.
Alice’s card had a picture of a dog in the garden with flowers, as it is her favourite animal.
Shayleigh said: “My dad, Carl, was in Bury Hospice, so I know the difference the hospice makes to people that need help.
“I designed a card with a picture of a sunflower and hearts, using the colours of the hospice to create my design.”
Ava wanted to thank everyone that works at the hospice in her design.
And Reubenna said: “I wanted to raise money for the hospice through my creative design.”
Dylan enjoys helping people and said that was his main reason for entering the competition.
The winners attended a presentation at Bury Hospice where they enjoyed cupcakes whilst being presented with a certificate and sweets. The winning designs will be printed on to cards and will be available to purchase at Bury Hospice.
