A TEENAGE make-up artist from Bolton has hit the big time ­— after an international star hailed her work.

Freya Gorton, who juggles school work with weekend jobs doing people's make-up, was "overwhelmed" when worldwide make-up mogul Jeffree Star shared one of her social media pictures.

The 15-year-old,who studies at St James High School in Farnworth, posted a picture in Instagram of vibrant eye make-up using a Jeffree Star product.

After Jeffree shared it to his cosmetics page, the post racked up more than 59,000 likes and 205 comments.

Freya said: “I was overwhelmed when I saw that he reposted it, because I am such a big fan.

“I was doing my make-up ready to go out when I noticed my phone was pinging.

“I was so happy when I saw it, that I started ringing my mum and friends to tell them about it.”

As a result of the post, the make-up artist gained more than 400 new followers.

Freya will also be showcasing her talent at the Bolton Fashion Festival in March at the Bolton Whites Hotel.

The teen currently has over 1,400 followers on the social media app, and regularly posts dramatic and special effect make-up looks to her page.

She said: “I have been practising make-up since I was very young ­— now my mum begs me to do hers too.

“I did not even watch tutorials or attend masterclasses, I just practised doing different looks on myself to learn.”

Miss Gorton juggles her schoolwork with her make-up ­— and spends weekends working.

She said: “It is not hard to balance my studying, because make-up jobs are usually taken on weekends.

“I also have an interview next week to study make-up at Media City, so I can get into film make-up.”
