FORECASTERS have released weather warnings as strong winds are set to sweep across England and Wales.

The Met Office predicts gusts of up to 40mph could cause widespread disruption tomorrow (Tuesday).

The warning covers most of the country, from Cornwall up to the North East, and all of Wales although Scotland and Northern Ireland will not be hit by the winds.

Forecasters expect the unusual weather to cause delays to road, rail and air travel, especially public transport services.

There could also be some loss of power and Electricity North West has also issued warnings.

The wind will bring with it heavy rains throughout the evening, with a 90 percent chance of precipitation.
