BLACKBURN Cathedral hosted 120 young people from different cultural backgrounds in Lancashire to help build bridges and dispel myths.
On Thursday pupils from three primary schools in the county gathered for the ‘Head to Head’ event at its premier Anglican place of worship.
Children from Christ Church Carnforth; St Thomas, Blackburn and Griffin Park, Blackburn worked together, took part in team challenges and chatted to find out more about each, share common values and appreciate their differences.
Cathedral’s Canon Rev Dr Rowena Pailing, and Imam, Salim Jogi from Jaame Masjid in Blackburn answered question from the youngsters.
Dr Pailing said: “This is a really important initiative for celebrating hope and building trust in communities which have often been presented as divided.”
Mr Jogi said: “It was a fantastic morning; this is what building stronger communities is all about.”
