On Saturday 7 December Bellegrove Social Club hosted the South London & Kent Pool Alliance fourth annual Christmas party and it was the biggest and best yet.

Friends, family and players from the SLKPA gathered for fun, food and fetivities with Santa and an elf paying a visit during his busy schedule to deliver presents to the 30 children in attendance.

The children also enjoyed a bouncy castle and some traditional party games like musical chairs and statues and pass the parcel before making way for the adults to party the night away.

Everyone had a wonderful time and it was great to see the smiles on the children's faces, especially when they received their presents from Santa.

However, this year's party wasn't just about the children of players from the SLKPA but also the children and families that use the league's chosen charity, Demelza - Hospice care for children.

Demelza provides specialist care and emotional support for children with terminal conditions and their loved ones, so they can enjoy time together as family, for as long as they have.

Demelza was chosen because it has close links to the league, not just becase of its locality but also because some of the players use and have used their services and facilities.

The SLKPA have been raising money over the years through, competitions, scratch cards, the sale of chalk with both the SLKPA and Demelza logos, as well as donations and the SLKPA committee would like to thank everyone that has contributed.

The league felt that the season of goodwill was the perfect time  to preent what thhey had collected so far and a cheque for £332 was given to John from Demelza by the SLKPA Chairman, Martin Donohoe.

Bellegrove Social Club had also been raising money for the charity and a £60 cheques was also presented by them.

The party wouldn't be such a success without organisation, so a big congratulations go out to; John Skuza, Martin Donohoe, Scott Shephard and Louis Wilbourne, the organising committee and their helpers; Tony Frost, Paul Gafa, Steven Reed, Alan Reed, Martin's wife Susie and Kelly-Lee the elf.

The SLKPA would also like to thank the following for their kind donations towards the party; Eltham Terrace Club, Bellegrove Social Club, Wealden Properties ( Sevenoaks) Ltd and Heat Technologies Ltd.
