BOLTON boy band NXTGEN are to give Bury youngsters a special insight into life in the music industry when they visit a school next week.

The pop trio of Cian Gleeson, from Horwich, Sonny Hardman, from Atherton and Joel Healy, from Salford, shot to stardom on the BBC’s The Voice UK, reaching the semi-finals.

Since their exit from the show the band have worked with and impressed some of the biggest names in the industry, including Snoop Dogg and John Legend.

They have also recently released their new single, Sucka 4 Love, produced by their Grammy award-winning mentor and Black Eyed Peas frontman Will.i.am.

It is accompanied by a music video shot in the hills of California and follows three tracks released this year, Embrace, Rewind and I Don’t Know How To Dance.

Speaking about the new single, NXTGEN said: “This was one of our more hip hop inspired songs.

“We listened to Tupac’s song “Do for love”, and he takes you through a story where he really likes this girl but there are too many complications and he doesn’t seem to trust her but yet he can’t stop, hence the lyric “I’m a sucker for love” — and there’s been times where we have all related to this.

“So we thought it would be a cool idea to write a song about our own situations.”

On Monday the three piece outfit will be dropping by at Unsworth Academy where they will be performing songs and talking to pupils about their inspirations, future plans and experiences in the music industry, including writing and recording in Los Angeles with will.i.am and heading into the studio with Meghan Trainor.

The band will also chat with youngsters about staying safe in the digital age, and cyber bullying.
