A MAN who had two “amicable” meetings with his former partner was arrested for breaching a restraining order.

Blackburn magistrates heard initially his partner had denied that Jordan Daniel Hoyle had been at her house before telling police the truth.

Hoyle, 29, of Moorgate Street, Blackburn, pleaded guilty to breaching a restraining order.

He was made subject to a curfew between 7pm and 7am for two months and ordered to pay £85 costs and £90 victim surcharge.

Catherine Allan, prosecuting, said the order had been made in May following a domestic violence conviction involving the same person.

She said the couple had met by accident in a nightclub in October but there was no incident.

Two weeks later she was at home when there was a knock on her back door.

She answered thinking it was a friend and the defendant was there.

“He asked if they could talk about their child and she invited him in,” said Miss Allan.

Damien Pickup, defending, said the chance meeting in the nightclub resulted in a brief, amicable conversation and nothing more.

“When he went to her house it was to discuss concerns over their child and noting more,” said Mr Pickup.

“She invited him in and they had a drink together.

“They talked about the child and he was reassured by that.

“He didn’t cause her any problems or concerns.”
