ONE person is in hospital following a crash on a busy road. 

The emergency services, including the police and paramedics, were called to Tonge Moor Road in Bolton at around 1.15 this afternoon following reports of a crash between two cars and a van.

Three people were treated for their injuries at the scene and at least one person was taken to hospital. 

An ambulance spokesperson said: "We were called to the scene on Monday afternoon and sent one ambulance and a rapid response vehicle. 

"It appears that three people involved in the crash were treated for injuries - and at least one of them was taken to the Royal Bolton Hospital for further treatment. There was no major trauma." 

Traffic was heavy in the area as those involved were seen to and a clean-up operation took place.
