A SCHOOL has been given the go ahead to use eight temporary classrooms as an "emergency" measure while the site undergoes a large-scale refurbishment.

Ladybridge High School is expected to use the portable modular classrooms for a few months will the work is done, according to Cllr Bob Allen.

He and the other members of the planning committee voted to approve the application to use the classrooms at a town hall meeting on Thursday.

Councillors also granted planning permission for a single-storey extension at Eagley Infant School.

According to the proposal, the space will be used for a new community room and lobby.
