A 20-YEAR-OLD woman has been found hanged in Clitheroe.
Police confirmed the discovery was made at around 9.30am today (Friday) in woods near Waddow Hall, Waddington Road.
The woman was taken by ambulance to Royal Blackburn Hospital where she was pronounced dead a short time later.
Her death is not being treated as suspicious and the woman's next of kin have been informed.
The matter has been passed over to the coroner.
A police spokesman said: "Police were contacted by the ambulance service at shortly after 9.30am today to a report that the body of a woman had been found hanging in a wooded area near Waddow Hall, Waddington Road, Clitheroe.
"The woman, 20, was taken by ambulance to the Royal Blackburn Hospital where she was sadly pronounced dead a short time later.
"Her next of kin have been informed and our thoughts are with them at this time.
"The death is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for HM Coroner."
