THE Royal British Legion is inviting people to take part in Remembrance Day services.

On Saturday, November 9, there will be a service in Darwen Market Square at 11am, followed by wreath laying at the Boer War Memorial.

On Sunday, November 10, there will be services at Blackburn Cathedral at 9.30am, a parade from King William Street to Corporation Park at 10.25am.

A service will also take place at Bold Venture Park, Darwen, at 11am followed by church service at St Peter’s at 12.15pm.

The festival of remembrance by Blackburn and Darwen Band will take place at Darwen Library Theatre from 2pm.

On Monday, November 11, there will be a two-minute silence at Blackburn and Darwen town halls at 11am and a concert at King George’s Hall at 7pm. The ‘two sides of the same coin’ sculpture will be unveiled at Blackburn Library at noon.
