These stunning creations are made by a talented Darwen couple using CHOCOLATE

Eve and Bryan Townson started BE Chocolate and Patisserie business earlier this year and have now created a range of unique chocolates for Halloween and Christmas.

Some of their chocolates include scary eggheads, glazed pumpkins, polished shiny shoes, and shiny 'chocaroons'.

The Darwen couple are not just chocolate chefs – they have a history of successful cooking ventures.

Mrs Townson, 41, trained under celebrity chef Paul Heathcote and was a finalist on the BBC show Great British Menu.

She said: “This all started when Bryan made the chocolate favours for our wedding.

“He made chocolate boxes for everybody, which included chocolates that were meaningful to us.

“It was an expensive hobby, which we decided after many years to turn into a business.

“For pumpkins it’s a mirror glaze and Bryan is also phenomenal at the colours.

“Glazed food is very on trend in the cooking world now.”

Mum to eight-year-old Arthur, Mrs Townson was made redundant at the start of the year, and instead of looking for another job, the couple decided to set up their own business.

The couple met at the Dunkenhalgh Hotel 20 years ago when Mr Townson was a junior sous chef and Mrs Townson was a commis chef.

Mrs Townson said: “I became the senior chef at Heathcote in Manchester and was also on the Great British Menu, where I finished second.

“It was great, and I look back with fond memories, but it was not glam and easy, it was hard but I enjoyed it.”

Their son Arthur is their biggest priority though, and their chief chocolate taster.

Mrs Townson said: “Arthur gives us his constructive criticism and tells everybody at school that his parents make chocolates.”

Mr Townson is 45 and trained at Blackburn College, then became an executive chef before going into lecturing.

The duo will be moving into new premises next year and will be adding to their Christmas chocolate range.
