A FIVE-YEAR-OLD boy who defied all the odds after his parents were told he had no chance of survival has been awarded and accolade for his strength.

Joshua Fallon was born at 30 weeks after his mum Rebecca, who was expecting twins, was rushed into surgery for an emergency c-section.

Tragically, Joshua’s twin brother Jacob did not survive the complications of birth, and Joshua was in such a critical condition with a rare combination of illnesses that doctors told his parents he had a very low chance of survival.

But now, after defying all of the odds, the Blackburn schoolboy has been presented with an award for his strength during the second annual Paw Patrol Little Heroes Awards in London.

Speaking about the weekend, Joshua's dad, James said: "We had such an amazing time at the Paw Patrol Awards and it was with immense pride that we saw Joshua accept The Rubble Award for Strength. It was also inspirational being amongst the other award winners and the reasons for their nominations and subsequent awards."

The eight winners were presented with their awards at an exclusive awards ceremony generously hosted by The Park Plaza, Westminster Bridge, where they enjoyed a two-night luxury stay.

During their stay, the children received their trophies, medals and certificates from TV favourites Nigel Clarke and Naomi Wilkinson.
