A BOLTON couple will take on TV's toughest new quiz challenge tonight — and their friends and family will be watching on with pasties and Prosecco.

Andy Morgan and wife Diane are set to appear on BBC One show The Wall — hosted by soap star Danny Dyer.

The couple filmed the show last month but are staying tight lipped about how they did.

And tonight they will watch the show on a big screen with their pals at a special viewing party — complete with Carrs pasties and a glass of fizz.

Diane, a regional manager at Greater Manchester Chamber of Commerce, said: “We always said we didn’t mind what the outcome was — we just wanted to go and do it.

“We couldn’t tell people about the show until very recently — it was really hard, we just wanted to tell everyone.”

Andy, who works for energy firm Eon, applied for the show without telling his wife.

The 52-year-old said: “I was having a lovely morning just sat reading and saw the ad in the TV magazine and it had five facts about the show.

“When I got to fact five it said looking for contestants and I was all over it. You needed another person and you had to tell them.

“I put Di down and didn’t tell her because I knew she would say no but that she would love it anyway.

"Then she got an email from then and asked me what I’d done.”

TV's newest quiz show The Wall is hosted by EastEnders star Danny — with questions voiced by Angela Rippon.

Each episode will see one couple go up against the wall in three rounds.

It is described as the ultimate combination of strategy, knowledge, and luck.

Contestants will answer questions before dropping balls down the wall and into slots marked with different monetary amounts.

Balls are red or green depending on whether their answer was correct, with green balls adding money to their prize pot, while red balls take it away.

Each week, one couple are in with the chance of winning a life-changing cash prize.

Andy describes himself as a very extroverted person — but wife Diane was a little more nervous about the show.

The 48-year-old said: “If I had known what I was going to be in for I would have been very excited.

“I was very anxious about it but it was amazing.”

She added: “Now it’s about having a party and sharing a really special occasion with the people who have supported us over the last few years.”

The couple are expecting around 100 people to turn up to their celebration — and have booked a large room in the Holiday Inn and a projector to show the programme.

Andy said: “We’ve got Carrs pasties and Prosecco which is a bit of a weird mix but it’s going to be fun.

“It’s a great way to end an amazing experience with so many people around us.”
