TWO men have been arrested by police investigating the theft of juicers and blenders from a premises in Yorkshire. 

Police and Crime Scene Investigation vans arrived at a Blackburn industrial unit on Carluke Street at 10.30am this morning. 

A North Yorkshire Police spokesman said: "A warrant has been executed by officers from North Yorkshire Police and Lancashire Police this morning at an industrial unit in Carluke Street in Blackburn.

"This is in relation to an ongoing North Yorkshire Police investigation into a theft of a large quantity of juicers and blenders stolen from a commercial premises based in Elvington, North Yorkshire.

"Two men from Blackburn have been arrested in connection with the investigation and are assisting police with their enquiries."

George Douglas, 64, who lives on the street, said: "The police vans turned up with the Enterprise van earlier.

"I just wondered what was going on and the police have not told us anything.

"I have never seen so many police vehicles in this area, it is so unusual. 

"I saw one person being taken away and being arrested."

One eyewitness, who did not wish to be named, said: “There were so many police cars and vans so we knew something was going on.

“There were some of the police with protective armour on and I saw someone being arrested. 

“There was even a mobile CCTV van that came on there.”
