AN ELDERLY man has been taken to hospital after a crash outside a high school.
The incident is thought to have involved three cars which collided in Bradshaw Brow, close to Canon Slade School.
The man, who is described by the ambulance service as being in his 70s, has been taken to the Royal Bolton Hospital.
His injuries are not thought to be serious.
A spokesman for the ambulance service said: "We were called to a collision at 1.20pm. We sent a rapid response vehicle and an ambulance.
"We treated a male patient with head injuries and he was taken to the Royal Bolton Hospital."
Traffic is very heavy in the area and parents of children at Canon Slade School have received warnings about the disruption.
One lane is currently blocked and police are diverting vehicles away from the scene of the crash.
