Patients in E5 children’s ward and the Churchill unit at Royal Bolton Hospital received a sweet surprise.

Staff from Haute Dolci visited the wards yesterday lunchtime.

Safiya Bhuta runs the Bolton franchise with her brother, Mohammed, and organised yesterday’s visit.

She said: “Charity is really important in our community and when it comes to desserts, it’s good to reach out to those less fortunate.

“We have already been to work with the homeless and provide them with luxury, and we thought we could do the same here.

“It’s great to try and get all the patients involved and looking forward to something.”

Safiya is hoping to run a similar event at Bolton Hospice later in the year.

The company provided a selection of treats, including milk cake, chocolate coated strawberries, and waffle bites.

Some lucky patients received a Haute Dolci Key, part of their loyalty card system.
