A PRIMARY school will use temporary classroom cabins this year as construction takes place at the site.
Gaskell Community Primary School has installed two modular units each with double classrooms to cater for the school's expansion.
Elite Systems technical manager Jamie Gee explained why the move is taking place in an application for a certificate for lawful development submitted to the council.
He said: "The proposal is in order to allow for a school expansion to the existing building while there is an extension being built over the next 12 months."
The school in Thomas Holden Street is among several schools which are being expanded to cope with rising demand for primary school places.
Applications for primary school places for children starting in September 2020 are now open..
Parents can apply online and must submit applications by January 15.
Parents will find out which school their child has been offered on April 16 with emails being sent from 7am.
