A GAS leak forced the closure of several roads in a town.
The leak happened near the railway arches on Blackburn Road in Accrington at around 2.30pm today.
It forced the closure of Blackburn Road and nearby Edgar Street and King Street for around two hours.
The leak was fixed at around 4.30pm by engineers with fire crews and police attending the scene to put cordons in place and re-direct traffic.
Inspector Dave Clarke, of Blackburn Police, said: "We were called to a gas leak which has now been sorted.
"All the roads have now re-opened."
Stuart Roxburgh, crew manager at Hyndburn fire station, said: "We were called at around 2.30pm to a small gas leak near to the railway arches on Blackburn Road in Accrington.
"Crews put a safety cordon around the area where the gas leak was until the gas board arrived and fixed it."
