A MAN has been charged by police over an incident which saw a vehicle targeted in an explosive attack.
Police were called on Tuesday, July 23, when a black BMW parked in Back Castle Street in The Haulgh, had an improvised explosive device (IED) thrown into it.
This afternoon (Friday, September 20) officers confirmed that Hamid Luqman, 31, of Halifax Road, Rochdale has been charged with possession with participating in the criminal activities of an organised crime group, intent to supply a Class B substance and money laundering.
He appeared in Manchester Magistrates Court earlier today, where he was remanded to appear before Bolton Crown Court on October 4 2019.
The IED incident was linked to a shooting on Lever Street on July 12, in which a man was left seriously injured.
