THE 2019 BBC Proms season may have ended — but fans of classical music can enjoy the sounds for a little longer.
They are being invited to sing along at wave their flags at Walmsley Unitarian Chapel in Egerton later this month.
Bolton Darwen Brass Band and guest singer, Helen Jones are presenting a Proms Concert.
The concert will feature a full programme on Saturday, September 28.
It will end with all the “Proms favourites”. These traditionally include Edward Elgar’s “Pomp & Circumstance March No. 1” — to part of which “Land of Hope and Glory” is sung— and Henry Wood’s “Fantasia on British Sea Songs”, followed by Thomas Arne’s “Rule, Britannia”.
The concert concludes with Hubert Parry’s “Jerusalem”, and the British national anthem.
The event is one of a number held at the chapel during the year. In December Eagley Brass Band will be leading a special carol service by candlelight.
As expected tickets are selling fast, with a few left.
They are priced £8, with the price including refreshments.
