A CHORLEY man was arrested after being aggressive and being in possession of a baseball bat in the town centre.

Officers were concerned about the incident on Market Street on Tuesday afternoon.

PC Carl Exeley said: “ Market Street was busy due to it being market day and a number of people were concerned by what they saw.

“We attended and quickly located the man who was arrested for being in possession of an offensive weapon.

“He has subsequently been charged with this offence.

“This was an isolated incident and we do not believe that there is a threat to the wider public.”
