RESTAURANTS from across the region that have made it into the Guide’s Top 50 Restaurants have been unveiled and lots are just a short journey down the road.

The shortlist recognises the best talent in the country; a place on the list represents a huge achievement, with each position earned by its score in The Good Food Guide, editor appraisal and strength of reader feedback.

Moor Hall

This Is Lancashire:

The Ormskirk restaurant and hotel boasts two Michelin stars and ranked number five on the list.

Enjoy fine dining in this stunning grade two listed building which is surrounded by five acres of gardens and a lake.

Chef Mark Birchall showcases his own style of modern British cuisine.

This Is Lancashire:

Coming in at number 11, this city centre favourite is based at the Midland Hotel in Manchester.

The menu offers modern British food that 'delivers consistently excellent flavours, using the best seasonal produce available'.

When it comes to dining at The French, there are now more options than ever before, from the signature six and nine course menus, to the new four course menu.

Tast

This Is Lancashire:

Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola made his mark on the city's culinary scene by introducing Catalan food and wine to King Street.

Led by chef Paco Pérez, the team offer Tastets, small tastes of food, 'more complex' than tapas though still smaller than a plate.

Tast is a new entry for the north west region in this year's Good Food Guide.

The first floor of an old coffee warehouse in Stockport is not where you might expect a £65-a-head no-menu restaurant.

Only 30 guests can fit in the intimate dining area where you eat what you are given.
