THE principal of Essa Academy is so impressed with one of his student’s GCSE results that he has already offered her a job in the future.

Among the highest achievers at the academy are Hamza Awais, who achieved four grade 9s and two grade 8s and Aaminah Riaz, who managed to get two grade 9s and five grade 8s.

Following her grade 9 in Physics, Mr Knowles said he had taken Aaminah to one side to tell her that if she carries it on then he promises her a job as a Physics teacher in five years time.

He said: “She’s done fantastically well and she’s really breaking down barriers.

“I’ve told her if she goes away to university and comes back when she’s 21, there’s a job for her here.”

Responding to the future job offer, Aaminah beamed: “It’s surreal. Physics has never been my strong point, it’s always been chemistry or biology, so to get a 9 and for him to say that is unreal.

“Overall, I think I’ve done really really well and I’m really proud of myself.

“All the work I’ve put in has just paid off. It was such a stress and I just worked as hard as I could knowing I had a long summer ahead of me and it’s all paid off. I’m really really pleased.”

“I’m really proud of myself. All the work that I’ve put in has paid off.”

Physics was not even on Aaminah’s mind for the future but she admitted she may have to re-evaluate.

She added: “I was going to Bolton Sixth Form to do A-Levels in Biology Chemistry and Maths, but I’m thinking about physics now. “

Hamza Awais took a few hours to come to terms with his amazing results but is hoping to go into medicine.

He said: “I threw up this morning I was that nervous. I’m still nervous now. It hasn’t sunk in yet.”

“It feels unreal. I’ve done much better than I thought I would.”
